The ambitious "BTS Seven Cake" by Baskin Robbins, run by SPC Group, is being criticized for its low price and low quality. 

On the 24th, online communities were posting a series of articles pointing out the price, amount and design of the BTS Seven Cake. Critics point out that the price is similar to that of regular ice cream cakes, but the amount is not only much smaller, but also lacks meaning to symbolize the 7th anniversary of BTS' debut, and the design is not sincere.

"BTS Seven Cake" is a number seven-shaped cake that means the seventh anniversary of BTS' debut and seven members. Mom has a total of seven popular Baskin Robbins ice cream flavors, including aliens, mint chocolate chips, blueberry cheesecake, Shooting Star, Almond Bonbon, Cookie & Cream and Berryberry Strawberry.

Baskin Robbins received pre-orders for the 7-cake from the 21st before its official launch and realized its popularity as it closed early. However, due diligence photos of Seven Cake have been leaked on social media ahead of its official release, and there has been considerable controversy among fans. 

It's a priority price. Seven cakes cost 26,000 won, which is similar to the basic ice cream price of Baskin Robbins, but the basic cake capacity of the same price is 713ml, considering that the basic cake capacity is Wachuwon (1360ml), Wachuwon (1257ml) and Waxmile Snow Blossom (1112ml). 

One netizen pointed out, "Many ARMYs say that the amount disclosed is cheaper than they thought," adding, "Compared to other Wachuwon and Seven, Wachuwon per 100ml is 1,911 won and Seven is 3,646 won."



Some pointed out that design and quality are poor. Critics say that there is a lack of design that symbolizes BTS, and the shape of the existing cake seems to be lacking in sincerity. "BTS 7 Signal Light," which can be purchased for 3,900 won when pre-booking for cakes, is also criticized for its below-expected quality. 

"We are aware of the controversy over BTS cakes," a Baskin Robbins official said. "Cake prices are not limited to capacity alone. Unlike the existing square-shaped and round cakes, Seven Cakes are staffed more than existing products because people have to fit diagonal pieces one by one. 

The official added, "We will repay fans' disappointment with a better product," adding, "BTS' new ice cream dessert will be released on August 1, and we will communicate with fans with new products that have been developed."
