BTS 4th Japanese full length album’s first day sales of 447,000 sets a record in Japan and For BTS’ Japanese Discography [Official Position]





Group BTS made history again with its fourth full-length Japanese album.

According to the latest chart released by Japan's Oricon Chart, BTS's fourth full-length Japanese album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY ~," released on the 15th, sold 447,869 copies, topping the daily album chart.

This is more than double the sales volume of 188,000 copies on the first day of the third full-length Japanese album "FACE YOURSELF," which was released in April 2018, and realized the growing popularity of BTS.

The figure is also the largest of all first-day sales of all albums released in Japan this year, as well as a new record for first-day sales of all foreign artists.



"MAP OF THE SOUL: 7~THE JOURNEY~" also showed an unrivaled presence on iTunes charts around the world. Immediately after its release, it topped iTunes' Top Albums chart in 81 countries and regions including Japan, the U.S., Canada, Britain, Germany and India on the 16th (as of 8 a.m.), while "Your Eyes Tell," a song that Jungkook participated in composing, topped the iTunes Top Song chart in 93 countries (In 24 hours) , including Japan, the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Italy and Russia.

In addition, the title track "Stay Gold," which was pre-released in June, ranked at the top of the iTunes "Top Song" chart in 84 countries and regions, including Japan, the U.S., Britain and France, 9th place in "Bubbling Under Hot 100" by Billboard, and 1st place in "World Digital Song Sales."

BTS's fourth full-length Japanese album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY ~" includes the original Japanese songs "Stay Gold" and "Your Eyes Tell," as well as the title track "ON" and the album "Black Swan" released in February, a total of 13 Japanese versions of their popular songs
