BTS Jimin's "Filter," the unrelenting popularity!





BTS Jimin's solo song "Filter" has been charting for 17 weeks at No. 9 on the Billboard's "World Digital Song Sales" chart, continuing its unrelenting popularity.


According to the latest chart released by Billboard on the 7th (July 11th), BTS Jimin's "Filter" in the fourth full-length album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7" (Map of the Soul: 7) has continued to rank ninth on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart for 17 consecutive weeks, proving its popularity in both domestic and overseas markets.

Also on the chart, Jimin's "Filter" was ranked the highest among the songs in the album "Map of the Soul: 7" released on the 19th, followed by "Stay gold," the title track of the fourth full-length Japanese album "Map of the Soul:7."

"Filter" ranked No. 1 in K-pop and No. 4 in total in the first half of 2020 in the U.S. Amazon music sales rankings, and surpassed 60 million streams in 134 days after its release, the shortest period as a Korean Male singer.

BTS is set to release its fourth full-length Japanese album "Map of the Soul: 7~THE JOURNEY" today. The title track "Stay Gold" was pre-released on June 19, and in particular, this album is expected to be released in two years and three months since its third full-length album "FACE YOURSELF" in April 2018.

Meanwhile, the group's fourth full-length album "Map of the Soul: 7" was the best-selling album in the U.S. in the first half of this year. 

 
According to Nielsen Music's first half of the U.S. music market settlement reported by Forbes on the 9th (local time), "Map of the Soul: 7," released in February, sold a total of 552,000 copies in the U.S., ranking first in the "top 10 albums." 

The top 10 albums are the combined sales of physical and digital albums. Canadian R&B superstar The Weekend's "After Hours" topped the chart with 407,000 copies. BTS sold about 150,000 more. 

BTS especially showed strength in sales of physical albums. It topped the list with 528,000 copies. "Map of the Soul: 7" was the only album to sell more than 500,000 copies of "Half Million Sellers" in the U.S. in the first half of this year. "Map of the Soul: 7" topped Billboard's main album chart "Billboard 200" upon its release.

The survey was conducted by Nielsen Music from January 3 to July 2 this year by analyzing music-related numbers and trends, including physical albums, digital downloads, and streaming, which were compiled for about six months.
